Bengaluru, Jul 18: Congress high command has summoned KPCC president D K Shivakumar and former chief minister Siddaramaiah to Delhi to discuss various issues.
Both the leaders are flying to Delhi on Monday, July 19. They will hold discussions with Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi, K C Venugopal and Randeep Singh Surjewala on Tuesday.
Sources said that the party high command wants to discuss the tiff between the two leaders after a section of MLAs projected Siddaramaiah as the next chief ministerial candidate of the party.
The high command also wants to discuss panchayat elections strategy, list of KPCC office bearers and other issues, sources said.
It is said that this is an important meeting and many vital decisions are expected to come out of it. It is expected the high command will give its consent to the much-awaited list of KPCC office bearers which has already been submitted by D K Shivakumar. High command has got a separate list from Siddaramaiah also. Senior leaders of the state have also conveyed their opinions with the top brasses of the party.
It is learnt that the high command will give a go ahead to the list of office bearers that is agreeable to all.
On Friday July 16, a meeting on upcoming BBMP elections was held at Shivakumar's residence, in which Siddaramaiah also participated in order to convey that the party was still united.
