Mangaluru, Jul 16: A woman has filed a complaint with Ullal police alleging theft of a 24-gm gold necklace and a CCTV camera from her apartment residence. In her complaint, she alleged that the accused had stolen 160-gm gold from her residence a year ago.
The theft was reported in the residence of Kathija Mahesar in the Silicon Apartment of the city.
Abdul Munir
The accused have been identified as Abdul Munir of Madani Nagar and his brother Mohammed Siraj. Police arrested Abdul Munir late at night on Thursday after the woman filed a complaint. Abdul Munir had stolen a 24-gm gold necklace and a CCTV camera on July 2 after learning that there was no one at residence. The incident has been captured on CCTV cameras installed outside the residence.
Reportedly, a year ago, Abdul Munir along with his brother Mohammed Siraj had stolen 160-gm gold from the residence of Kathija. It is alleged that after stealing the gold, the duo had purchased an expensive car.
Accused arrested for recording woman bathing
Ullal police had arrested Abdul Munir for recording a video of a woman having a bath in a private hospital room on January 20, 2021. He was recently released on bail in this case. Now he has been involved in theft, stated police sources.
It is said that Abdul Munir entered the house using a duplicate key. As per the complaint filed by Kathija, Munir was working with her husband and even visited the residence which might have been how he got access to the key. With the help of the key, the accused entered the house while there was no one at home.
