Udupi, Jul 16: Union minister for state for Agriculture and Farmers’ welfare Shobha Karandlaje held a meeting with deputy commissioners (DC) of Udupi and Chikkamagaluru districts on Friday July 16, in the wake of incessant rains that are lashing the Malnad and coastal districts of the state.
The minister held the meeting through video conference from her office at Krishi Bhavan in the national capital.
The minister sought information from the concerned officials on the probable natural disasters that might occur due to heavy rains, handling of Covid in both districts, preparations made for the third wave of Covid and the implementation of union government projects.
Shobha asked the DCs and other officials to keep her updated every minute in case of any natural calamity and provide suitable assistance in case of difficulties faced by the public. This information was provided by the office of the minister in New Delhi.
