Mangaluru: Boy who helped dog to cross road hailed by citizens

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jul 12: A dog was waiting to cross the road, braving heavy rain and vehicles which followed one another. A boy guided the dog safely to cross the road. The love and care he showed towards the animals has come in for lot of praise. This indent happened at Kollara, Malemar.

At around 1.30 pm on Saturday July 10, a dog was waiting to cross the road. But its efforts went waste as vehicles came one after the other. A boy who was going by a bicycle to sell vegetables, noticed the dog. He returned to the dog, held it by the two front legs, and saw that it crossed the road with the bicycle. The dog then went its way, and the boy went about selling vegetables.

This eight second video clip was captured by Apul Alva, an international award winner photographer. The people of the city are profusely in praise for the kindness shown by the boy.

The gesture shown by the boy is all the more important in the light of the recent incidents, in two of which dogs were tied to motorbikes and dragged along inhumanly and violently, and also in one case where a street dog was gunned down. The boy has shown to the people that kindness is still alive here.

This boy's thoughts are so pure, but my thought is - why this minor is working in this way? Poverty for sure. But his mind is rich. Can we change this boys life after this act of kindness. Can't we locate him and make sure that he gets education and give wings to his dream?

Very relieved to know that there kinder are people on this earth, on the contrary to those who tie a dog to a bike and drag it along. May the boy be blessed with abundance of happiness and contentment in life.
