Mangaluru: Muslim family arranges marriage function of poor Hindu girl

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jul 12: The wedding ceremony of a poor Hindu girl was scheduled to take place on Sunday July 11. However, the marriage was on the verge of being cancelled because of financial implications. On learning about this, a Muslim family from Manchila came forward to manage the expenses, met the entire expenditure involved with the marriage, and ensured that the girl exchanged wedding woes with the groom without any hassles.

Razack of MK family and Sureshanna are known each other for the last several years. Both are as close to each other as siblings. Sureshanna (65) along with his sister, whose husband is no more, her daughter, Kavana, another widow and a small girl have been living in a rented house in Machila SP compound.

MK Razack recently went to the residence of Sureshanna to meet him. He observed that Sureshanna and his family members were deeply disturbed by some worry, and they looked pale, dejected and frustrated. Razack pressured Sureshanna to reveal to him what was bothering them. Sureshanna said that already the family is finding it hard to have proper food. Added to this, the marriage of Kavana, a member of his family, was scheduled to be held on Sunday but the family had no clue how to arrange finances. Razack took pity on him and immediately asked MK Riyaz, popularly known for his cricket commentary in five languages, to the spot. Riyaz arranged gas and ration supply to the family immediately. They also brought the problem of the family to the notice of UH Abdul Rahman, president of KM-MBM marriage fund, and chairman, M K Hamza. The MK family took pity on Sureshanna's family and decided to absorb all expenses connected with the marriage of this poor Hindu girl. Accordingly, the Mehendi function of the marriage was performed in the rented house of Sureshanna on Saturday. MK family had purchased a golden ring, toe ring, ear lobes, silver items and other items connected with the marriage. MLA U T Khader and other donors too have extended financial help for the marriage. The marriage function was held in a grand way at Goddess Durgaparameshwari temple, Talapady on Sunday. MK Riyaz, MK Razack, MK-MBM marriage fund and Nammoora Vishya’s group admin, U H Abdul Rahman, participated in the marriage.

Sureshanna's family is overflowing with a feeling of gratitude to MK family for the large-hearted gesture.

Islamophobia is the fear of, hatred of, or prejudice against the religion of Islam or Muslims. Islamophobia is on the rise. This is just a drama by a peace loving community to come out of the bad image of “love Jihad” I would have appreciated this benevolent MK family helped someone who really need medical help not for marriage. Marriage could have been done by the community and the temple with minimum cost. Even bride groom could have rejected such kind of marriage and he would be nagging brides family throughout their life . I pray God to give them wisdom.

i am just thinking with this sort of financial condition still the girl wants to get married..typical thinking..we indians have to come out of this.. life long her husband will tease her saying that they did not have the money to get her married off... God knows when the mentality of our people changes with regards to marriage.

Ram kumar, during the time of Covid this was the main particular community which came forward to help others when the near and dear ones had abandoned them after death, and as per your point you should not even use the fuel supplied by this muslim countries. Otherwise ur relatives or friends might tease u for using the fuel provided by Muslim Countries.

Getting married is necessity of this life. If someone reach to age of getting married then they should get married by spending at least minimum expenses OR by someone helping them. IF ANYONE DO NOT GET MARRIED AT THEIR AGE OF MARRIAGE THEN THERE WILL BE HIGH CHANCES OF RAPE OR TURNING INTO PROSTITUTION.

Ram kumar Parashar, mangalore ,whatever you think and say,and pen here ,is not a good way to express so.You know mostly in hindu family ,not a girl decides to marry and parents dance to the tune. However parents had problem with everything :But someone came to help at right time and helped.Feelings and needs are for every family ,person are same .Feel hungry you eat,no food starve. Some have soft heart others only look with a wrong eye for every given help from other community.Lets congratulate the new couple and people who gave a helping hand.Religion, caste or skin colour is only in onlookers eyes.other side too you are right .They could have put back marriage till financial condition improves, girl could work for sometime till the condition elevates. Some dont think so far ,but old system of marrying a girl early.

"Good deed must be done with intention and not to draw attention." Shankar, because of some criminal and unlawful acts by some community people we cannot blame the entire community. As you have pointed out there are black sheep in most of the families and most of the communities. Let us concentrate on the virtue of certain people and sideline the ugly faces of some who damage the entire society.

If marriage on verge of breaking due to financial implications how will it run after marriage & what is the guarantee groom will not pressurize for more. Parents should not behave in manner such as to get rid of daughters when they are of marriagable age to every tom dick & harry without them passing test of sincererity. If goom was sincere he wud have agreed for registered marriage or get married at Temple such as Dharmasthala
