Udupi: Abduction case - Accused arrested from Kumta, child rescued

Udupi, Jul 12: Police were successful in quickly tracing the child that was kidnapped on the morning of Sunday July 11 and also arrested the abductor.

Accused Parashu of Bagalkot origin was taken into custody with the help of local police at Kumta railway station on Sunday night. Both the child Shivaraj and accused Parashu were brought to Udupi on Monday July 12 morning.

Accused Parashu had kidnapped the child from Karavali Bypass and travelled by city bus and got down at Santhekatte. According to the information provided by a woman that he has boarded a red colour bus in Santhekatte, the team led by Udupi city police inspector Pramod Kumar quickened its actions.

The police team traced the bus and contacted the conductor. As per the information given by conductor, the accused had got down from the bus at Kumta. The same information was relayed to Kumta police. So the police of Bhatkal, Kumta and Karwar started searching for the accused with the child. They were able to spot and arrest the accused in the night.

A case of kidnapping was registered at Udupi city police station on the Sunday morning by the parents of the kidnapped child.

    One thing I dont understand.Mother said child was taken for a breakfast,and this fellow took the girl ,almost abducted.was any connection from parents and abducters.Thank God girl is saved now.clearence is required.He should be taken out from soceity and lock in .what was his intention ?so happy girl is safe without any injury.

    Dear Umesh, why are you bringing religion here. What is your intention. Please live peacefully and let others live peacefully. I think you are looking for a chance to blame minorities if the culprit belongs to them. Your statement shows how communal + jealous you are . If you cant live with other communities, you are free to quit India and live in Pakistan or Afghanistan or Kailash. Dont be a problem to us.
