Bantwal, Jul 11: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has designed Suraksha-ICU bus for the treatment of Covid patients. First bus of this kind arrived at the B C Road depot of KSRTC in order to provide health service to public of Bantwal taluk.
Under the limits of Puttur KSRTC division, which includes Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kodagu, the first bus has arrived to Bantwal. MLA of the taluk Rajesh Naik Ullippadyguthu had met deputy chief minister and transport Laxman Savadi and requested him to provide an ICU bus.
The technical staff has inspected the systems in the bus. The bus has siren system like ambulance. The inside of the bus resembles that of a medical clinic. Patients’ entry is made on the back side of the bus.
The bus has five beds. All beds have oxygen facility and also has monitoring machines for BP, oxygen level, ECG and body temperature. It also has IV facility, provision to install ventilator, emergency medicine and generator. In addition, there is notice board and other writings about quick recovery of patients.
The ICU bus will be flagged off by MLA Rajesh Naik on July 13. It will reach out to all villages and give service like a mobile clinic. Doctors and health professionals will provide medicines along with tests to people. If the bus runs as scheduled it will visit every village once in two months.
This bus has arrived to the taluk due to the efforts of MLA Rajesh Naik. The bus will arrive to KSRTC B C Road unit every day.
