Belagavi, Jul 11: Former Minister Ramesh Jarkiholi had tried to get minister position again by putting pressure on BJP high command. He had also visited Delhi, Mumbai and Athani and met senior leaders of the party and held discussion in this regard. However, after some days of lull, now Ramesh has made a U turn and said that the matter of resigning to the MLA position is a closed chapter.

Ramesh had tendered his resignation after the sleaze CD case of him went public. SIT has completed its investigation and made preparations to submit the report to high court. Jarkiholi had planned to join the cabinet again after June 18. He held discussion with his political godfather former CM of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai and later went to Athani and met RSS convener Aravindrao Deshpande.

Ramesh Jarkiholi maintained silence under the instructions of top BJP leaders. Later he went to Mumbai again and returned to Gokak city. He inaugurated various development programmes in his village of Ankagali. Speaking to media he said that he will not resign from his position of MLA.

Ramesh said, “It is true that I made the decision of resigning to my position of MLA. However, now due to the suggestions given by top leaders of the party, Swamijis and well-wishers, I have dropped the matter.”

Balachandra Jarkiholi, brother of Ramesh had also pressurized him to withdraw his decision. But Ramesh expressed ignorance on the matter and said that he will speak to Balachandra on this matter.
