Udupi: Body of man who went missing two days ago found in river

Udupi, Jul 10: The body of Sridhar Mayya (60), who went missing two days ago, was found Uppoor river near Santhekatte, on Saturday July 10 morning.

The deceased's wife and daughter indentified the body.

Police suspect that the deceased must have jumped into the river on Friday. Locals who spotted the body floating, informed the police. With help of fire personnel and police, the body was lifted and shifted to the hospital for further action.

It may be recalled, a case regarding the 60-year-old missing was filed at Brahmavar police station. Mayya, a resident of Kameshwara temple campus, Baikady village in the taluk, was battling health issues and was on medication at home itself. On July 8, Mayya had informed his wife and daughter that has a court case and is going to Chikkamagaluru for the same and will return in four days. He had also left his mobile phone at home itself. Later on the same day, Kameshwar temple received a registered letter which was sent by Mayya. He had mentioned in the letter of ending his life.
