Chennai, Jul 8 (IANS): BJP President J.P. Nadda has appointed former IPS officer K. Annamalai as the new chief of the party's Tamil Nadu unit, as per a party statement on Thursday.
The vacancy arose after incumbent L. Murugan was inducted into the Narendra Modi government as Minister of State in the reshuffle on Wednesday.
Speculations were rife over Murugan's successor, with Annamalai and K.T. Raghavan being seen as the front runners for the post.
