Mangaluru/Udupi, July 7: Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday, July 7 reported 304 new coronavirus cases and fourteen deaths, while Udupi reported 100 fresh cases.
As per the district health bulletin, a total of 10,99,539 samples have been tested so far.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 94,592 out of which 2,790 are currently active. The positivity rate of district is 3.86%.
As many as 335 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday.
The district recorded fourteen deaths due to coronavirus on Wednesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1282.
With cases steadily increasing, the district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 96,37,2867 as fine in 78,970 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 6,99,705 samples have been tested so far.
As many as 100 new cases were reported on Wednesday, taking the total number of cases to 67,124 out of which 903 are currently active.
A total of 75 patients were discharged from hospitals on Wednesday.
Coronavirus has claimed 398 lives in the district so far.
Till now, 4,34,181 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 1,35,885 have received the second dose.
