Udupi, Jul 7: The SSLC exam is scheduled to be held on July 19 and 22. Concerned authorities have been directed to ensure appropriate preventive measures are taken in view of the pandemic. “7,597 boys and 6,787 girls are writing the SSLC examination in the district this year. 111 examination centres are opened for this purpose. 2,266 staff members including 88 chief superintendents, custodians, local vigilance officers, etc., have been assigned various responsibilities. All of them have received Covid vaccinations,” said district deputy commissioner G Jagadeesh.
He was speaking in a meeting presided over by him at the district panchayat auditorium concerning preparations taken for the SSLC examinations.
“The examination will be held on July 19 and July 22, two rooms are reserved in each examination centre for students with Covid symptoms. The Covid positive students should write the examinations at Covid Care Centres. Principals of respective schools should obtain information about the vehicles in which students will arrive. The district administration should be informed in advance if transport facilities to students are required. The principal will be responsible if there are problems relating to transportation,” the DC said.
“Strict action will be taken against people spreading rumours relating to the examination. The officials should also ensure that there are no malpractices in the examination centres,” he said.
“The health department, scouts and guides and the education department should conduct a mock drill two days prior to the examination and inspect the preparations. All should observe Covid protocol by wearing masks and maintaining social distance in the examination centres,” he said.
District panchayat CEO, Dr Navin Bhat directed authorities to ensure that roofs of the exam centres do not leak due to rain and also asked that all the centres be sanitized.
ASP Kumar Chandra said that quick assistance can be obtained by calling on the number - 112.
DDPI N H Nagoora, district treasury officer, Gopala Swamy, principal Vedamoorthy, supervisors of various examination centres, officers of the education department and others were present.
