Kundapur: House gutted in fire, owner sustains minor injuries - Estimated loss worth Rs 2 lac

Kundapur, Jul 6: A house belonging to one Vincent D'Souza, near Vinayaka Theatre in Hangalur was gutted in the fire after an LPG cylinder leaked here on Tuesday, July 6.

Due to the incident, the house and several materials inside the house were destroyed in the fire. Vincent who lives alone in the house after cooking rice, went to the town to purchase a gas cylinder, thinking that he needed a refill. Upon returning home, Vincent began prepping to cook while a fire broke spontaneously. It led to the roof of the house along with the refrigerator, oven, sofa and other materials getting destroyed in the fire.

Vincent also sustained minor injuries due to the incident. The fire is said to have cost Rs 2 lac worth of damage.

Gram panchayat president and gas agency visited the spot.
