Bagalkot, Jul 6: In an accident that occurred in the district, car driven by Chidananda Savadi, son of deputy chief minister (DCM) Laxman Savadi collided against a bike killing the rider of the two wheeler.
Koodaleppa Boli (58) rider of bike is the unfortunate person who lost is life in this accident. The incident took place on the night of Monday, July 5 near Koodalasangama Cross on national highway 50 of Hunagunda taluk of the district.
Chidananda who was going via Vijayapura road collided with the bike of deceased Boli, who was going back to his house after completing work in his field. The deceased is resident of Chikkahandaragal of Bagalkot taluk.

The car bearing registration number KA 22 MC 5151 driven by Chidananda Savadi got hit due to reckless driving by son of DCM as per prima facie evidence. It is also alleged that Chidananda tried to flee from the spot after damaging the number plate of his car so that the registration number is not visible properly.
It is said that Chidananda, instead of taking the victim in his car to the hospital tried to escape from the spot. However, defending himself, Chidananda says that he was not travelling in the car that was involved in the accident.
