Puttur: Two arrested for selling liquor illegally at Kemminje

Puttur, Jul 4: Two persons have been arrested by Puttur police on charges of illegally selling liquor.

The accused have been identified as Babu Poojary (48) and Ganesha (32), both residents of Kemminje village.

Acting on definite information, ASI Jamburaj Mahajan of city police station raided Kallagudde of Kemminje village where accused Babu Ganesha were selling Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) and beer without any legal permit.

The police arrested the accused and confiscated hundreds of sachets and bottles of liquor and also cash amounting to Rs 800 that the accused had made by selling the liquor.

The total value of the liquor and cash confiscated is said to be Rs 26,118.

A case in this connection has been registered under Karnataka Excise Act.

    These small level scams have increased a lot since BJP in power in central and state . Such things never used to happen when congress was in power and India was always secular and honest. Here in Canada there is rule of law and even if some misguided youths do some alcohol or drug smuggling works, there is public and police support to them and legal system also helps them by understanding their problems and reasons they is going into the crime specialisation . In India system is not proper and persecution is very common of such poor and marginalised people. We must understand the background issues and forget and forgive sometimes
