July 3: Dakshina Kannada reports 214 new cases and 13 deaths, Udupi adds 101

Mangaluru/Udupi, July 3: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, July 3 reported 214 new coronavirus cases and thirteen deaths, while Udupi reported 101 fresh cases.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 10,68,597 samples have been tested so far.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 93,653 out of which 3,770 are currently active. The positivity rate of district is 2.326%.

As many as 333 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday.

The district recorded thirteen deaths due to coronavirus on Saturday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1235.

With cases steadily increasing, the district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 94,93,217 as fine in 77,802 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 6,90,468 samples have been tested so far.

As many as 101 new cases were reported on Saturday, taking the total number of cases to 66,777 out of which 925 are currently active.

A total of 97 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday.

Coronavirus has claimed 395 lives in the district so far, no death reported on Saturday.

Till now, 4,27,955 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 1,29,428 have received the second dose.

    Why are so many people dying in dakshina Kannada? R there more positive cases which are not being reported? Because death rate seems very high
