Mangaluru: Two transporting ganja from Andhra Pradesh to Kasargod arrested

Mangaluru, Jul 3: Two people transporting ganja from Andhra Pradesh to Kasargod, stand arrested.

DCP law and order Hariram Shankar said the accused were nabbed at Kottara Chowki check post under Urwa police station limits.

The arrested have been identified as Shihabuddin (32) and Latheef (38), both from Kasargod.

“A Mahindra pickup vehicle and 40 kg ganja in 20 packets have been seized. The vehicle was carrying boxes full of lemons. 

"Students in Kasargod and Mangaluru were their targets. The main source of ganja to Karnataka and Kerala is Odisha and Andhra Pradesh from the naxal areas. Ganja is one of the main sources of income for the naxals," said the DCP.

ACP central PA Hegde was also present.
