State government releases Rs 25 crore for Rajakaluve protective walls in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jul 3: MLA Vedavyasa Kamath, said that the state government has released Rs 25 crore for the purpose of constructing protective walls for the Rajakaluve (main drains) within the city limits.

He said that the issue had been discussed with the chief minister B S Yediyurappa, memorandum had been given about the development works to be undertaken in the city, and that petition had been submitted by him seeking grants to build protective walls to the main drains to avert artificial floods during the rainy season. Kamath stated that the grant was released based on his petition on Friday July 2.

Kamath said that the chief minister has been apprised of various development works in the city and their progress including smart city works, and the chief minister has been requested to sanction more grants.

When Kamath met the chief minister and held discussions, urban development minister Byrathi Basavaraj, and minster for cooperation, S T Somashekhar, were present.
