Mangaluru, Jul 3: Covid vaccine campaign has taken pace in the district of Dakshina Kannada (DK). Till Thursday, July 1, 8,25,332 people have received the jab. Out of this 6,80,139 people got their first dose, while 1,45,193 received both doses.
In the age group of 18 to 44 years, first does is given to 21,948 people, while 3,538 have received both doses. In the age group of 45 to 60 years, 2,28,255 people have received first dose of vaccine while second dose is administered to 36,497. In the 60+ category, the first dose is given to 1,68,011 and second dose is received by 63,985.

On Friday July 2, as many as 7,057 students and staff of 24 colleges of the districts were administered vaccines. For the general public, vaccines were given to 1,594 people in Bantwal taluk, 2,862 people in Beltangady, 9,209 in Mangaluru, 1,401 in Puttur, 752 in Sullia. In total, 15,818 people received vaccine on Friday.
