Jul 1: Dakshina Kannada reports 285 new cases, Udupi 146; 15 deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 1: Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, July 1 reported 285 new coronavirus cases and fourteen deaths, while Udupi reported 146 fresh cases and one death.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 10,50,152 samples have been tested so far.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 93,137 out of which 4,334 are currently active. The positivity rate of the district is 3.26%.

As many as 599 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday.

The district recorded 14 deaths due to coronavirus on Thursday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,209.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 94,00,417 as a fine in 77,017 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 6,85,396 samples have been tested so far.

As many as 146 new cases were reported on Thursday, taking the total number of cases to 66,585 out of which 955 are currently active.

A total of 230 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday.

Coronavirus has claimed 394 lives in the district so far, including one on Thursday.

Till now, 4,19,793 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 1,14,397 have received the second dose.

    I met a covid positive lady yesturday in Mangalore city. She saying that she got a call from Wenlock hospital saying that her test is possitive and collect report from hospital and collect medcines there only. So she came to hospital collected report , medicines and going back to home by walk in public... If this is the case in City how they can control corona???

    Even after having sophisticated medical infrastructure in Mangalore, death rates are quite high. Something is seriously wrong in Mangalore.
