Mangaluru: More relaxation in lockdown - Shops to remain open till 5 pm in Dakshina Kannada

Mangaluru, Jul 1: State government on Thursday, July 1 issued an order to place Dakshina Kannada under Category 1 districts following the decline in the Covid positivity rate.

Consequently, all the additional activities permitted for Category 1 districts will also be applicable for Dakshina Kannada. The order will be implemented with immediate effect and will be in force till 5 am on July 5.

The weekend curfew will be in place from 7 pm on Friday, Jul 2 to 5 am on Monday, July 5.

During the weekend curfew, people will be allowed to purchase essential commodities like milk, fruits, vegetables from 6 am to 2 pm. Even the shops selling meat and fish will be open.

Under the new guidelines hotels, restaurants, canteens, bars and clubs can remain open from 6 am to 5 pm. Up to 50% of customers can sit and consume food in them. Consumption of liquor is not permitted and pubs will continue to remain closed.

Movies and tv serial shooting is allowed. Parks will remain open for jogging and walking from 5 am to 6 pm. Gyms can function up to 50% of their capacity. Up to two passengers can travel in autorickshaws and taxis. Buses can run up to 50% of their capacity. Outdoor sports are allowed without an audience.

Government and private offices can function with up to 50% staff. Wedding events can be held provided the total number of attendees does not exceed 40. Only up to five people can attend funerals.

    I have noticed with considerable interest FAREWELL FOR DEARLY DEPARTED RELATIVE OR FRIEND. The attendance is restricted to only five whereas in other areas there is considerable relaxation. A final farewell to a friend or relative is very very important. Hope the Government does A RETHINKING ON THIS ISSUE

    Anyway government not interested to make corona free state. Government is in full interest to keep corona virus alive in state so they relaxed lockdown. Anyhow they broughtdown the numbers, why cant they keep lockdown till number become zero?!?!?
