Mumbai, Jul 1: On Wednesday June 30, the city recorded a TPR of 1.81 percent, marginally higher than the 1.76 reported on Tuesday June 29. However, the only solace is that the TPR is still below two percent.
There was a considerable increase, however, in the number of deaths and new cases reported on Wednesday. Both stood at 25 and 692 respectively. This is just two times that of Tuesday. The doubling rate was 716 days on Wednesday, which is reduced from the earlier data. On June 22, the city recorded single-digit deaths and the lowest TPR of 1.76 percent.
In the age group of 40 to 60 years, 10 people died, while 13 in the age group of 60+ also succumbed to Covid. The total number of deaths were 25. Out of this, 17 had comorbidities.
On Wednesday, 680 people recovered. This means that the recovery rate stood at a constant of 96 percent.
Figures for the whole state, however, saw a steep increase for the second consecutive day. 9,771 new cases are reported. The total number of deaths stood at 141. The state has 1.16 lac active cases at present. The death rate remained constant at 2.1 percent. Recoveries stood at 10,353.
Among the new cases, Navi Mumbai and Raigad had the newest cases with 148 and 536 respectively.
The total number of cases in the state now stands at 60,61,404. In the last 24 hours, 1,458 cases were reported in the MMR area. 25 people died in Mumbai city on Wednesday while 680 recovered and discharged. The first dose of vaccine was administered to 43,63,153 people in the state so far. The second dose was given to 10,72,578. The figures for Wednesday vaccine doses stood at 43,320 and 20,259 respectively.
