Udupi, Sep 5: Demanding the enforcement of anti-cow slaughter bill in the state at the earliest, the BJP activists of Kaup legislative assembly went on a procession in the prime areas of Kaup town here on Saturday September 4.
The activists submitted a memorandum to state governor through Kaup revenue officer Guruva Kulal. It states that the government has got the consent from legislative council to adopt anti-cow slaughter bill. Hence the state government has the prime right to bring it into practice. It also states that in 2005 the Supreme Court had given its judgment to ban cow slaughter.
The seven states in the country have already adopted the anti-cow slaughter bill. The people of Karnataka also should support for it so that the inhuman cat will be banned completely, urged the Kaup BJP activists.
Kaup BJP president Kuthyar Naveen Shetty, district vice-president Katpady Shankar Poojary, BJP leaders Sheela K Shjetty, Jagdish Acarya, Kollabettu Ravindra Shetty, Geetanjali M Suvarna and Jithendra Shetty among others were present.
