Udupi, Jun 29: The district administration has decided to vaccinate students of Udupi origin studying in other districts or states. In an order passed by the district deputy commissioner, G Jagadeesh said, "All the students of Udupi origin who are studying in institutions outside the district or state will be vaccinated under special category. If a student of Udupi is studying in any of the educational institutions of Dakshina Kannada or any other district will be only provided vaccination in the Udupi district."

This issue was raised by Udupi MLA Raghupathi Bhat in a review meeting with district in-charge minister Basavaraj Bommai. As the Udupi district administration began vaccinating students of degree colleges on Monday many students who are studying outside the district had arrived to avail vaccination. However, the vaccination process was limited to the students of concerned colleges in the district.
