Mangalore, Sep 4: District BJP leaders on Saturday September 4 here criticized the Congress leaders' approach towards the issue of Kashmir and implementation of ban on cow slaughter.
Addressing the protestors in front of the deputy commissioner's office, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel criticized that the Congress has been appeasing the minority in the name of secularism. Further, he also expressed his displeasure over stance taken by President Prathibha Patil and state Governor Hans Raj Bhardwaj on the issue of ban on cow slaughter and urged them to give a nod to the anti cow slaughter bill.
Throwing light on the issue of Kashmir, which has become haven for anti-national elements, he remarked that the land once the abode of Lord Sharada is now being slowly occupied by the Pakistani funded terrorists.
Speaking on the occasion, Padmanabha Kottari, BJP district president said that it is the duty of every patriot Hindu to protect cows and Kashmir.
Franklin Monteiro, state President of BJP Minority Morcha accused the governor of the state and President of acting against the will of the people of this country and insulting their constitutional right.
Pulasya Rai, District president of BJP Mahila Morcha, Monappa Bhandary, district BJP former president, Mangalore south MLA N Yogish Bhat and B Nagaraj Shetty, chairman, Coastal Development Authority among otehrs addressed the protestors.
Later, a memorandum addressed to President was submitted through deputy commissioner V Ponnuraj requesting fulfilment of their demand.
