Bengaluru, Jun 27: Karnataka on Sunday June 27 continued to maintain a steady rate of decline in the number of new coronavirus cases, with the state recording 3,604 new infections.
As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 1,01,042. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally has come down to 788 new cases, but is still the highest among all districts.
As many as 89 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Sunday, with Mysuru and Dakshina Kannada each recording 15 deaths and Bengaluru Urban and Ballari 11 and 8 respectively. With this, the toll so far has risen to 34,743.
The state recorded 7,699 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 26,98,822.
So far, Karnataka has seen 28,34,630 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
The positivity rate for the day has dropped to 2.18%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 2.46%.
As many as 2,17,25,763 people have received vaccination so far.
