Mangaluru: Derogatory post against Janardhan Poojary on FB, police urged to take action

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (MS)

Mangaluru, Jun 27: An appeal has been submitted to Mangaluru police commissioner urging action against Karavali Rashid Tippu, who has allegedly posted derogatory comments on former union minister and senior Congress leader Janardhan Poojary.

The appeal addressed to the police commissioner has been submitted to Urwa police station by Biruver Kudla organization.

The alleged post made in the Facebook account of the accused states, "Janardhan Poojary is a peculiar person who enjoyed power continuously in his own party but bats for BJP. Congress high command has also not opposed him so far. If any person belonging to minority community had done such an anti-party activity, he would have been suspended by Congress. Stop this apartheid attitude."

In addition, the accused uploaded a photo of Janardhan Poojary accompanied by a derogatory caption.

Biruver Kudla organization has strongly condemned the post and appealed the police to take appropriate action.

As it was an appeal and not a formal complaint, the police are yet to register an FIR.

I honestly feel that Mr Janardhan Poojary needs our encouraging words and honour he deserves. He has been spending his life for many good causes; and now he is 84 in age, not a small age as such. We have to give him some breathing time and space. Let us consider that. Thank you all !

Janardan pujari is a very nice leader who actually helped the poor people in the state of Karnataka. He made getting loans easy for farmers and other people. Any derogative statement against him has to be taken very seriously and the culprit has to be punished

JP all his political life helped minorities, nurtured minority leaders..its sad that same people talking bad about him. he didnt misused his position to give undue advantages to his kin/family or own community close confidents. .while all his colleagues/juniors built bussiness/colleges & minting money the JP was full time politician serving party/people.. why he should support present state Congress leaders when even general public sick of infightings. .and by supporting Bjp what he will get at this age..he is straight forward politician, pure heart..JP & Vijaykumar shetty both helped minorities/their leaders immensely but in return they totally sidelined by double game/backstabbing.

Firstly is Janardhana Poojari in Congress now.? I think he is retired. So does not matter what he says. He was just another typical Congress politician, took full advantage of the 'minority' vote bank during his electoral days. The current Congress leaders are doing the same now. Relax!

Donald Trump throughout his tenure as POTUS was heckled, disparaged, called names, made fun of, roasted, abused on all media by Tom, Dick and Harry . At the very beginning of Trump’s term, Hasan Minaj, a 1st generation American of Indian origin, roasted Trump at the White House Correspondents Dinner. At the end of his act, Minaj said that he could never have dreamed of doing what he did if he had not been living in the USA. This is because the USA is the land that protects freedom of expression to the hilt. When Salman Rushdie was threatened by terrorist extremists for his book the “Satanic Verses”, his country, the UK, afforded him full protection. The Constitution of India guarantees freedom of expression in no less manner. Constitution of India, adopted in 1949 Right to Freedom Art. 19. (1) All citizens shall have the right— (a) to freedom of speech and expression; Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by UNGA in 1948 Article 19 Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers. Bill of Rights,USA, adopted in 1789. Amendment I Congress shall make no law ..................... abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. Declaration of the Rights of Man, France, 1789 Articles: 1. Men are born and remain free and equal in rights. 10. No one shall be disquieted on account of his opinions, including his religious views,............. 11. The free communication of ideas and opinions is one of the most precious of the rights of man. Every citizen may, accordingly, speak, write, and print with freedom, but shall be responsible for such abuses of this freedom as shall be defined by law. 16. One of the main reason why congress is unable to gain power OR win elections bcoz it's community based, one part of it is super peaceful & the other part uses violence for most situations, one important ingredient missing in congress is leadership..pappu is unstable & they haven't yet found a suitable candidate for future PM hence majority of Indians favor Modi even though he has some shortcomings & limitations they want someone who is naturally indian blood rather than someone who is a outsider.

Dear Henry , you agree or don't agree, its Congress which seeded this caste and communal politics. BJP tool advantage of it and took it to new level. Before congress realized what they had done it was too late. The community they appeased all the while , ditched them and favored or supports pure communal politics Then Congress played this liberal and fence sitter , inclusive politics , but the people who left congress for BJP , not all believed them. Despite hardships and inflation, they won't support foxes & hyenas UPA or 3rd or 4rth front now in national level. In some parts of the country, desperate congress started to imitate BJP politics like wearing saffron, starting Hindu some sena, some dal etc, for power loose all self respect and support Shiv Sena and then preach about non communal party. But all these things are only back firing. Over all, TIME BAHUTH KHARAAAB HAI for congress.
