Bengaluru, Jun 27: The intensity of the second wave of coronavirus is waning in the state and life is slowly returning to normalcy. There is a demand that the schools that have remained closed since one and a half year should be reopened and offline classes resumed.
Education minister Suresh Kumar will hold a meeting on Monday June 28 at the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan office in the city, in which deputy commissioners, DMOs, CEOs and DDPIs will take part through video conference.
The focus of the meeting will be on examining measures taken to reopen schools in other states of the country and also whether it is suitable to reopen the schools and conduct offline classes in the state.
Discussion will also be held on whether to open schools only in districts where the Covid positivity rate is less, together with Vidyagama and introduction of shifts system.
There is a possibility that decision will be taken in order to hold SSLC examinations in the third week of July. There is a possibility that the states of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana and Tamil Nadu will start higher education classes from July.
