Bengaluru, Jun 27: People have responded in a positive manner to the Covid vaccination drive that was launched on June 21 throughout the country. As a result, on an average 70 lac people have been vaccinated everyday throughout the country. In Karnataka, five lac doses are being administered everyday since June 21.
In the last six days 3.92 crore doses of Covid vaccination were administered. Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a high level meeting on Saturday, June 26 to assess the progress of vaccination and opined that there is need to include NGOs in the vaccination drive campaign.

Nearly 50% people above the age of 45 are vaccinated in 125 districts of the country. In 16 districts 90% people of the same age group are vaccinated according to the information provided by the officials to PM Modi.
In order to vaccinate (two doses) every eligible Indian citizen, 1,880 million doses of Covid vaccine is required. So far 280 million doses are administered. It will require 228 days to vaccinate every citizen of the country with two doses. This means that the process will end on February 3, 2022, if the pace of last six days is maintained.
In Karnataka, distribution of vaccine is doubled since the vaccination drive started. In the last six days, on an average, five lac people are vaccinated. On June 21, Karnataka stood second in the country by vaccinating 11.11 lac people in single day.
In district-wise statistics, most of the people living in the districts of Bengaluru, Belagavi, Ballary, Tumkur and Mandya are vaccinated. There is enough stock of vaccines in the state. The number of vaccination centers is increased. According to the information provided by health department officials, the number of vaccination centres is increased from 3,000 to 4,500.
In Karnataka, there are 4.7 crore people above the age of 18. So far 1.81 crore people have taken the first dose of vaccine. This means around 39% people are vaccinated. Karnataka tops the list among south Indian states with 2.16 crore doses of vaccine administered so far. So far 1.91 crore doses of Covishield and 24.5 lac doses of Covaxin is distributed in the state. 35.3 lac people have taken two doses in the state.
Now Karnataka has a stock of eight lac doses of Covid vaccine. On June 30 another 10 lac doses will be given by the center according to the information provided by health department officials.
From June 21 to 26 11.59 lac, 3.95 lac, 3.83 lac, 3.89 lac, 4.12 lac and 2.64 lac doses of vaccine is distributed in Karnataka respectively. Out of the people who have taken the vaccine in the past week, 90% are in the age group of 18+.
In the district of Dakshina Kannada 1,27,208 people have received vaccination in the past six days. On June 21, 44,392 people were given the vaccination and the district stook at sixth place in the state. In the past six days, 781 health workers of the district have received the first dose and 259 have received their second dose. Corresponding figures for frontline warriors stands at 769 and 102 respectively. 64,883 people in the age group of 18 to 44 have taken the first dose while 1,403 have received the second dose. 39,102 people in the age group of 45 to 60 have received the first dose, while 1,574 got the second dose. In the above 60 years category 16,645 people received the first dose and 1,740 got their second dose.
In the district of Udupi, more than 64,000 doses of Covid vaccine is given after June 21. On June 21, more than 28,000 doses of vaccine was administered in one day itself at more than 125 vaccination centres. From June 22 to 26, 9,466, 11,425, 8,448, 2,924 and 3,799 people have received vaccination respectively.
