Mangaluru: Policemen abandon canes, pick hoes, repair road

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Jun 26: The police who usually sport canes to maintain law and order, for a change, picked hoes and repaired a road where the smooth movement of vehicles was affected.

Smart City work is on at the Bunts Hostel Road here. As this is a crucial road, vehicular movement remains heavy. During the lockdown relaxation period, the density of vehicles was quite high. When the municipal corporation was contacted, their response was not favourable. Therefore, the police volunteered to handle the hoes and they successfully repaired the road.

Kadri traffic police inspector Gopalakrishna Bhat, and constable Ahmed Basheer, repaired the road and paved way for smooth traffic. Their voluntary service aimed at facilitating the road users has come in for lavish appreciation.

First of all Hats up to the Police officers who repaired the road. Dear citizens, this is what we expect if you get a illiterate/unpad leader. As reported, (When the municipal corporation was contacted, their response was not favourable.) what action is taken on the responsible corporation entity????? Is this the road repair work belongs to a Police personnel???? Shame on the government.

First we should be very grateful to our police. even though its not their job ,they became role models by taking social responsibility in this way. All should respect our police personnel around. Like wise all the citizens are also responsible for the irregularities in our traffic system. Let us make our District a healthy place to live in. Thanks to our district Police and all citizens.
