Mumbai, Jun 26: After the death of an elderly resident of Ratnagiri due to Delta plus variant of the dreaded coronavirus disease, BMC passed an order for the city to remain on level-3 with regards to the Covid restrictions.
According to the earlier plan of the Uddhav-led government, the city was almost on the verge of unlocking as the positivity rate and oxygen bed occupancy is less. But the plan was revised based on the death of the elderly person.
District disaster management authority will monitor the situation. The present level-3 restrictions will continue till then. However, the earlier formula of unlocking based on positivity rate and oxygen bed occupancy is done away with.
According to the new level-3 guidelines, shops selling essential goods can be kept open till 4 pm on all days. Other establishments are allowed to operate till 4 pm only on weekdays. Only takeaways are allowed in restaurants and they should operate with 50 percent capacity only on weekdays till 4 pm. Amazon, Myntra and Flipkart services will be allowed without any hindrance. Multiplexes, theatres and malls will be strictly closed. The social and cultural gathering is allowed only on weekdays with 50 percent capacity of the arena. Only 20 people are allowed to attend funerals, while for weddings maximum of 50 guests are allowed.
Air conditioners should not be used in salons and gyms which are allowed to stay open till 4 pm. Customers should be given appointments and crowding should be avoided. Local trains can be used for travel only by essential workers, medical personnel and women. Public transport buses can run with full capacity, but only seating is allowed and no standing. Private offices can be kept open till 4 pm. Government and private offices are allowed to operate with only 50 percent staff.
Outdoor sports are allowed only between 5 am to 9 am and 6 pm to 9 pm. Cycling, public places, walking grounds can be kept open only from 5 am to 9 am every day. Bubble film shoots are allowed without any movement outside after 5 pm. Construction workers should leave the site by 4 pm with exception of onsite workers. Movement of the public is strictly prohibited after 5 pm (sanchar-bandhi) and gatherings are prohibited till 5 pm.
One person died and 21 patients are infected with Delta Plus variant as per the details shared by Maharashtra health minister Rajesh Tope.
