Bantwal: Boats, tipper seized in tahsildar’s midnight raid on illegal sand extraction facility

Bantwal, Jun 26: A team led by Rashmi S R, tahsildar of the taluk, raided an illegal sand extraction facility at Panemangaluru near here on midnight of Friday June 25.

Two boats and a tipper truck that were used to extract and transport sand are confiscated as per the information provided by tahsildar Rashmi. This raid was conducted at midnight of Friday by the revenue department personnel with the active cooperation of forest department and city police station personnel.

Two people managed to escape during the raid.

This raid was conducted as many accusations of illegal sand mining are heard throughout the taluk.

    The cops do not know this? You can carry a full load of illegal Sand across kulur bridge if you bribe the cops and their underground agents .
