Mangaluru/Udupi, June 25: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, June 25 reported 377 new coronavirus cases and fourteen deaths, while Udupi reported 92 fresh cases and two deaths.
As per the district health bulletin, a total of 10,03,682 samples have been tested so far.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 91,036 out of which 6,414 are currently active. The positivity rate of district is 4.5%.
As many as 540 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday.
The district recorded fourteen deaths due to coronavirus on Friday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1122.
With cases steadily increasing, the district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 90,84,467 as fine in 74,773 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
As per the district health bulletin, as many as 6,71,042 samples have been tested so far.
As many as 92 new cases were reported on Friday, taking the total number of cases to 65,901 out of which 1,260 are currently active.
A total of 160 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday.
Coronavirus has claimed 387 lives in the district so far, including two on Friday.
Till now, 3,88,383 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 1,02,719 have received the second dose.
