Brahmavar: Youngsters create app that sounds alarm when vaccine is nearby

Daijiworld Media Network - Brahmavar (SP)

Brahmavar, Jun 25: Two youngsters from coastal Karnataka have created a new app, 'Vactrack'. This was created by software engineers, Ramdas Nayak from Saligrama, Karkada, and Kartik Kamath from Mangaluru, Konchady. When the vaccine is nearby, the app gives out an alarm sound which then helps the people to do the needful.

The app is available in Google Playstore. After downloading the app, a PIN code has to be entered. Thereafter, when the vaccine is received at the nearby government or private hospitals, the app alerts the concerned by sounding an alarm. If a vaccine is available, it also provides a link to the CoWIN website for registration.

Ramdas Nayak said that he and his friend planned to invent a simple app based on modern technology that suits the current needs. He said that shortly, the app will be equipped with a selection of the vaccine and hospital and direct registration.

You could have used your brains for some other useful purpose ..First of all ,are you allowed to enter and vaccinate yourself without registering ? What is the difference if one visits the vaccination web portal directly .. Google directly shows the information which are the nearby public health centers ..I really fail to understand use case of this project ..But I appreciate the spirit of the students and the hardwork they might have put behind developing this software (hopefully they have not copied the code or developed using open source platforms )

This app will be useful to many who want right information about coved vaccine. Like vaccine, government could make this app free to all the users. Good achievement by Ramdas Nayak and Kartik Kamath.
