ED raids Maharashtra's former home minister Anil Deshmukh's residence

Nagpur, Jun 25 (IANS): For the second time in a month, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday raided the house of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh.

The ED team reached Deshmukh's residence with a huge posse of police and central police forces, sparking speculation of further stringent action in the matter.

The senior NCP leader quit his post after former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh wrote a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray levelling allegations of corruption against him (Deshmukh).

Further details of the ongoing ED action were awaited.

The Country is painfully aware of how the Central Agencies are being misused to target opposition Leaders and Parties. This is the Ugly face of Modi's Maan Ki Baat and his innocent pretensions behind TV cameras in his repeated addresses to the Nation.Central Government Tax and Enforcement Agencies like Income Tax Dept and Enforcement Directorate have rarely raided BJP Leaders over the last six years. It will be nice to know through the media if any BJP leader has been issued any IT or ED Notice during the last six years. ED or IT departments would have known that large sums of money were transacted for luring of MLAs at the time of toppling of non-BJP governments but have turned a blind eye.

Mr Anthony...Whoever takes undue advantage on account of the position held should be put behind bars and their illgotten assets confisticated. Remember no party remains in power pernmanently.. So in case the party/Officials misusing their power today will also in all likelihood be investigated and if found guilty put behind bars... Dont pardon anyone..wipe out corruption...Politicians feign illness the moment they are cornered... Please dont Pity them..irrespective of the Political party...
