Mangaluru: Maravoor bridge repair in full swing, to be completed by July end

Mangaluru, Jun 25: Temporary repair of the Maravoor bridge that has developed a crack, is continuing speedily. The contractor and the engineers have expressed the confidence of completing the work by then.

Mulky-Moodbidri MLA Umanath Kotian, scrutinised the progress of the repair work on Thursday June 24. He said that once the bridge is repaired, light vehicles will be allowed on the bridge. "The new bridge is being constructed by the side of the damaged bridge. After it is completed, we propose to open it up for vehicular traffic and then undertake exhaustive repair of the old bridge," he stated.

Kotian said that as per the suggestions of the experts, the engineer and contractor have stayed put at the repair spot and are closely monitoring the progress.
