Udupi, Jun 24: A case is filed against a man for stealing a bag from a scooter and defrauding the victim to the tune of Rs 10 lac by misusing the cheques.
In the case that is filed in the city police station, complainant Udaya Kumar (48), resident of Vasadashami Nilaya near Kallianpur, Milagres College and owner of Dashami Provision Stores in Santhekatte, has accused Gopala Amin (55) of defrauding him.
Amin who is the permanent resident of Adarsh Nagar, Mysuru and presently residing at Doopadakatte in Brahmavar taluk stole a bag from Kumar's scooter which contained cheque book of SBI Kallianpur branch and bonds of Star Plus company and misused the cheques by withdrawing Rs 10 lac from the account of the complainant.
A case in this connection is registered in the city police station under crime sl no 97/2021 and IPC sections 420 and 406.
