Daijiworld Media Network - Bengaluru (SP)

Bengaluru, Jun 24: The state government has extended 50 percent concession in the motor vehicle tax payable in June. The concession has come at a time when the vehicle owners are facing a tough time because of lockdown, restrictions on movement of vehicles, rising fuel costs etc.

State transport minister, Laxman Savadi, passed an order giving 50 percent concession in motor vehicles tax, as corona-related restrictions are in force in the state.

The move will mostly benefit owners of cars, taxis and auto rickshaws. The government said that the concession has been extended in view of the curbs enforced on the movement of passenger vehicles due to coronavirus second wave. It is said that this one-time concession has been extended as a special case.

However, this concession will not be applicable to registration of new vehicles.
