Mangaluru, Jun 23: JD(S) leader and Hassan MP Prajwal Revanna on Wednesday, June 23 submitted a memorandum urging companies to provide employment opportunities to the local youth of Tulu Nadu.

Speaking to media persons, Revanna said, "Today companies have grown after coming up on 2,800 acres of land. But, these companies are hurting the regional sentiments of local youth by not giving employment opportunities."

"I have also urged organisations to provide employment opportunities to the youth of Tulu Nadu via tweet. The concerned people have assured me of giving good news in this regard. However, recently out of the 230 employees that were recently placed, only four were local youths," the JD(S) leader said.

"I took part in the protest to assure that our party is always in favour of the youth of Tulu Nadu. I never took part in the protest to politicize the cause. What is the use after procuring the land from us and not providing employment to the youth of the region? The companies should economically strengthen the people who have given land to them," he said.

Prajwal Revanna also assured that he will raise this issue in parliament and make sincere efforts to provide justice to the youths of Tulu Nadu. "If the companies fail to deliver justice in this regard, a massive protest will be held," he warned.

District Youth JD(S) president, Akshith Suvarana also expressed the party's support for the youth and the cause.

Dakshina Kannada JD(S) president, Mohammed Kunhi, party leaders MB Sadhashiva, Sushil Norohana, Rathnakar Suvarana, Vasanth Poojary, Pushparajan NP, Aziz Kudroli, Sumathi Hegde, Naseer Yadar, Rathish Karkera, Hithesh Rai, Faizal Rehaman, and others were present.

Yes locals should get priority in companies here. However i have noticed one thing that local youth are misguided by their colleges that they will get a salary of Bangalore and Dubai here in Mangalore. When freshers apply for a job they come expecting fat unrealistic salaries and this is my own experience. This has to stop as well

We need leaders like this. If we want to go to nationalized banks in Karnataka we have to learn hindi/malayalam or english but kannada won't work. We should speak only kannada in any government or private offices, then only non kannada speaker will force to learn kannada.
