Mangaluru, Jun 22: Former MLC, Ivan D'Souza warned of a protest if the district administration failed to provide free vaccination in the district.

Addressing media here on Tuesday, June 22, Ivan said, "We can see hoardings, boards put up where it says free vaccination to all. But in private hospitals, they charge up to Rs 1,000. MP and MLA should give an answer on whether the vaccination is for rich or poor."

"District administration should take steps in providing free vaccination for all. Vaccination should not be sold for money as it is a life-saving drug. Each and everyone should get vaccinated free of cost. Trading should not be done in the name of vaccination," said Ivan D'Souza.

"The district administration has failed in adopting effective measures necessary during the lifting of the lockdown. All the shops should be allowed to operate for the entire day. Even the bus should be permitted to ply on the road. However, the guidelines should be changed for weddings and funerals. The maximum number of people allowed at a wedding should be increased from 50 to 100. Even the compensation for Covid victim should be raised to Rs 5 lac," said Ivan D Souza.

Congress leaders Shashidhar Hegde, Appi, Mohammed and others were present.

Have these people lost it? Initially when the jabs were from central government and free of cost, these were crying for decentralization. They were asking permission for the states to procure directly. They asked for making vaccines available at private hospitals. Then the government agreed and they started crying again to make that 50% also free. Government agreed again and now they want private hospitals to give the vaccines foc!!!

It costs money to manufacture the vaccine. Somebody has to pay the costs of the vaccine. If Mr. Ivan D'Souza is demanding the Indian taxpayer should pay for the vaccine or the manufacturer should pick up the cost he should make it clear.

Yes, dear Ivan D'Souza. You analysed it very correctly. It is mandatory for our Govt to make it available to each and every one FREE of COST. Surely, our good Government and Officials will listen to these pleadings from all of us, and act accordingly. It is our Govt and we have a say in this matter ? Thank you all Officials for a such consideration !
