Udupi, Jun 22: “Vinay Kumar Sorake is a senior politician of this district. It is better for him to hold his tongue a bit while speaking. If our workers answer him, he will have to go back to Puttur again,” said district BJP president Kuilady Suresh Nayak.
Responding to Sorake’s statement on Ram Mandir construction matter in the protest meeting that was held at Shirva recently against the rise of fuel prices, Nayak said, “Sorake should not utter such words in order to appease minorities in Kaup. He should be careful. In coming days it might prove difficult for him also. We welcome politics. But one should be alert while speaking about God and Daiva. Let him speak about the petrol price rise in the protest that is held for the same. It will not augur well for Sorake if he speaks derogatory words about Hindu Gods and Daivas in order to please Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Hindus are collecting money for the construction of Ram Mandir throughout the country. Vinay Kumar is also a Hindu no? What contribution has he given in this matter? What is his stand with regards to the feelings of Hindus? Just because there are more Muslim and Christian voters in Kaup, Vinay should not try to appease them by hurting the sentiments of Hindus. If this crosses the limit, we will have to target Vinay.”
Reacting to the role of BJP leaders in Yadamoge Uday Kumar Ganiga murder case, he said, “The BJP is urging the police to apprehend the real culprits from the day this murder has taken place. Our Byndoor Mandala workers have visited the house of the victim and have given a cheque of Rs one lac. There is no question of protecting anyone in this case. We have sympathy towards the deceased and his family. Former Congress MLAs Sorake and Gopal Poojary are going to Yadamoge repeatedly and trying to politicize the issue. The police inquiry is in progress. Truth will be revealed. We should not accuse anyone simply. BJP will not protect the accused.
“From June 23 till July 6, planting of saplings will be done in the district at booth level on account of the death anniversary and birthday of Dr Shyam Prasad Mukherjee. Similarly arrangements will be done to telecast Mann Ki Baath programme this time at booth level for party workers and public,” he said.
