After the death of Manish Chandra Puri, the police faced a huge challenge of arresting the terror suspect. With their incessant efforts, the CCB police succeeded in taking into custody Habib Miya from Tripura in 2017. They had filed a charge sheet in the NIA special court. But in the charge sheet, the police had record the statement of accused No.1, Shabauddin. Other than that, no document, witnesses or evidence had been provided to the court. Because of this, the court felt that the case suffers from lack of evidence. The court ordered for the release of Habib Miya. The police also were asked to release him from jail.
