Udupi, Jun 22: The district is unlocked from Tuesday June 22 after frantic efforts from MLA Raghupati Bhat. Normal life of commoners is slowly returning to normal.
All the shops are opened in the city and buses are plying from Udupi to Kundapur. Even four private buses started operating. However, most of the city, service and express buses run by the private operators have not taken to the road.
According to the unlock guidelines, all business establishments can do trading till 5 pm. Social distancing and wearing of face mask is mandatory. Shop owners are liable to maintain the Covid guidelines.
Though the district is unlocked there is no much movement of vehicles and people in the city. Shops have also opened in Manipal. Commuters who utilize bus services are facing inconvenience and most of the private buses are not operating. Even the KSRTC buses that are operating are taking only 50% of passenger capacity in the bus.
Express buses between Udupi and Mangaluru not yet started. KSRTC buses, however, are taking passengers to places like Kundapur, Karkala, Agumbe and other places of the state.
