Recoveries outnumber new coronavirus cases in Karnataka

Bengaluru, Jun 21: Karnataka on Monday, June 21 continued to maintain a decline in the number of new coronavirus cases, with the state recording 4,867 new infections.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 1,23,134. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally was 1,034 on Monday.

As many as 142 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Monday, with Bengaluru Urban reporting 28 and Ballari recording 12 deaths. With this, the toll so far has risen to 34,025.

The state recorded 8,404 discharges from hospitals, taking the total discharges so far to 26,54,139.

So far, Karnataka has seen 28,11,320 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day has dropped to 3.25%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 2.91%.

As many as 1,90,63,464 people have received vaccination so far.
