Bengaluru, Jun 21: Deputy chief minister and State Covid Task Force chief Dr C N Ashwath Narayan launched a dedicated Covid helpline set up for the specially-abled by 'Sakshama' organization on Monday.
The organization which is working for the welfare of the specially-abled has set up the Helpline 0120-690-4999 and the help could be sought in Kannada, Hindi, English, Marathi, Telugu and Tamil languages.
Dr Narayan, who participated virtually, said all the specially-abled are eligible to have BPL cards and they should avail the benefit and called on organizations to join hands with the government in effectively implementing the various programs meant for the welfare of the specially-abled.
The specially-abled should make of the opportunities provided through reservation in employment and 4% budget allocation earmarked for their welfare purposes, he informed.
Venkatesh Murty, founder, Youth for Seva, Dr Sukumar, National Organizing secretary, Sakshama, and others were present.
