Bengaluru, Jun 21: It was thought that with the visit of state BJP in-charge, Arun Singh, to the city and with his return to Delhi, the jitters created by dissident BJP leaders had been blown away. However, former minister Ramesh Jarkiholi unexpectedly left for Mumbai on Sunday June 20. His action gave rise to some rumours.
It is said that Jarkiholi is angry that he is being sidelined in the party and the chief minister and others were not interested in restoring to him the post of the minister. It is said that his Mumbai visit is aimed at flexing his muscles to show his strength. It is also being claimed that he will make an effort on the national leaders of the party towards re-joining the cabinet through some Mumbai-based leaders with whom he is close.
It is being claimed that over five legislators two have accompanied Jarkiholi. Reportedly, Jarkiholi has a grouse against some people in the government who he feels are not interested to extend support and assistance to him at this time of need, and to dismiss the case registered against him. He has already narrated his side of the story to his close ones and is planning to show to the leaders his clout in an effort to bring pressure on the chief minister and national level leaders of the party.
Jarkiholi, it is said, is even prepared to resign as MLA and field his son Amarnath, from Gokak assembly constituency. However, Jarkiholi’s reaction to these rumours could not be obtained as he was not available for communication.
