Mangaluru, Jun 19: The trailer of 'Mog-Mulyar', released a few weeks ago. The short video had created great enthusiasm among the Konkani audience all over the globe. Music lovers were pondering to know what ‘Mog-Mulyar’ was all about, if it was a movie, album songs or a documentary. Putting an end to all the speculations, on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Rebimbus Creations, the makers of the concept, unveiled the secret of 'Mog-Mulyar'. It is a musical play with the evergreen compositions of Konkani’s legendary composer-cum-singer Wilfy Rebimbus and aesthetically shot video.
The musical show has been titled as 281st Wilfy Nite - Ek Novo Prayog – ‘Mog Mulyar’ .The musical play is being produced under the banner of Wilfy Rebimbus Music in association with United Youngsters.
‘Mog Mulyar’ comprises 16 songs of Wilfy with dialogues in a storyline. As many as 22 senior and junior Konkani singers have rendered different songs. Majority of the senior singers are those who had shared the stage with Wilfy in concerts. Overall, 70 artists have made immense efforts and are part of the project. This video has been shot at the finest and best locales of coastal Karnataka.
Walter Nandalike, a well-known face in the media industry of coastal Karnataka through his various television shows in Tulu, has played a lead role in this concept. Nandalike's presence will play an instrumental role from the beginning to end. He plays the role of a businessman who has lost hopes due to the pandemic.
Pappan & Joswin, who were the undivided part of Wilfy Nites and very familiar to the Konkani audience through the musical albums of Wilfy Rebimbus, have handled the music department of the concept with fine remixes and updated instruments. The entire script of the musical play is written by Vishwas Rebimbus who is the son and close follower of Wilfy's dreams. The choreography is handled by Deepak D’Souza, concept and visualisation by Rebimbus Creations, make-up by Jacintha Rego of Monalisa Beauty Parlour, DOP by Vijay Monteiro, and editing-Di-VFX by Guruprasad Acharya at Gendali Studio, Bengaluru. “On June 19, 2011 which was Father’s Day, we launched our institution, Rebimbus Creations. Today, we complete 10 years of our existence. We dedicate this upcoming show, 281st Wilfy nite - ‘Mog Mulyar’ to Dad’s fans in his remembrance.
“Dad always dreamt of holding a ‘Sangeeth Natak’ through his musical shows, but never discussed it in detail. ‘Mog Mulyar’ is just a small attempt through which we have tried to create something close to Dad’s idea," says son Vishwas Rebimbus.
After the legendary Wilfy’s death, United Youngsters organises Wilfy Nites every year with innovations. Wilfy’s 279th Nite was titled ‘Sukh Dukh Express’ which was highly appreciated for its presentation on stage. This time, knowing the current Covid situation and hoping to reach more of Wilfy’s music lovers, the organizers went a step ahead and shot the complete Wilfy Nite with a storyline and outstanding visuals.
