Mangaluru, Jun 15: As many as 227 accused were arrested under the section of 27(B) Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) in 171 cases and 61 accused were arrested under various other sections of the NDPS Act in 38 cases for the year 2021 (till June), informed a press release issued from Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate.
The police have seized 475.8 grams of ganja, 175.62 gms of MDMA tablets and 3 gms of MDMA powder, 21.13 grams of cocaine, 0.75 grams of heroin and 840 LSD stamps (15.15 grams) from the accused.
In the year 2020, as many as 195 accused were arrested under section 27 (B) NDPS Act in 150 cases, and under other sections of the NDPS Act, the police have arrested 60 accused in a total of 35 cases.
Police have seized 414 grams of ganja, 62.700 grams of MDMA tablets, 26.850 grams of ganja hashish bottle, LSD 10 sheets (2.4 grams) and 103.040 grams of MDMA.
