Jun 14: Dakshina Kannada reports 648 fresh corona cases, 123 in Udupi; 8 deaths in twin districts

Mangaluru/Udupi, Jun 14: Dakshina Kannada on Monday, June 14 reported 648 new coronavirus cases. The case positivity rate for the district stands at 8.51%.

As per the district health bulletin, a total of 9,05,735 samples have been tested so far, out of which 8,21,342 have turned out to be negative.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 84393, out of which 6,954 are currently active.

As many as 707 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 76,456.

The district recorded six deaths due to coronavirus on Monday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 983. 

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 74,51,617 in fines for 63,560 mask violations. 

Udupi

As per the district health bulletin, as many as 2,69,341 samples have been tested for the second wave of coronavirus.

As many as 123 new cases were reported on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 40,789, out of which 2,883 are currently active.

A total of 460 patients were discharged from hospitals on Monday, taking the total number of recoveries to 37,734 for the second wave.

The second wave of coronavirus has claimed 172 lives in the district, including two on Monday.

    So, in DK, the positivity rate (TPR) is 8.51% yesterday which is higher than on Sunday which was 7% ??

    All fake statistics just to reopen everything. And some will not admit themselves. So how these will get correct count. And not to deny even 5% of the Mangalore is not vaccinated.

    Went to Udupi town today and there was traffic jams and overcrowding in shops due to small sizes. Unless God intervenes like during first wave we will be headed for certain disaster.
