Kundapur, Jun 14: Seva Bharathi, which has indulged in social work, has been donating food kits to drivers of lorries and other vehicles during the lockdown. The 300 free food kits were being distributed every day for the last 36 days till the concluding day of Sunday June 13.
200 kits were distributed at Beejadi NH 66 and 100 kits at Thekkatte. Local people and others joined hands in the noble work donating rice, vegetables and other items.
Seva Bharathi formed three teams to prepare the food, to fill it in the packets and deliver them on time. Drivers arriving from other states, patients going to the hospital and their house members are benefited by it.
There are no restrictions on the transport of goods and vegetables during the lockdown. The lorry drivers have to reach medicine and oxygen early without stopping the vehicle anywhere. The drivers do not find meals in hotels anywhere.
Seva Bharathi intends to continue the good work on weekends during lockdowns.
